So, we start with Málaga, a city full of fellow travellers from other contries.
Málaga is the best place to spend some holidays if you are looking to enjoy the weather. Málaga city offers many things to do, including beach sports, street parties, seafood tasting.
Málaga is at the epicenter of many other exciting cities in the Andalucian Community, in Southern Spain.
Located nearby Cádiz or Seville, Málaga is perfectly located to enjoy a big trip and get to know the beautiful south of Spain. Also, Málaga has one of the fanciest marina places to have fun in the summer nights, called Puerto Banús.
It´s easy to travel to Málaga. Taking a flight from London (UK) in barely 3 hours you will arrive in a city with an incredible beach, sunny days and 25ºC 6 months a year.
There are two cheap ways to get from the airport to Málaga city center.
- Take a bus “A” at the airport bus stop
- Take the train “C1” (the C1 Train route) that heads to Málaga Centro Alameda
Another option, a little bit more expensive than the others, is to take a taxi.
There are many fancy places to stay in Málaga. Our first time in Málaga we chose the Urban Jungle Hostel
It´s a comfortable and cheap option in the center of Málaga, so don’t worry about transport to/from the main sightseeing places in the city like Alcazaba, Centre Pompidou and the beach.
Málaga’s city beach, whose name is La Malagueta, is located 20 minutes by foot from the city center. Even though it is a good option to spend the day, it isn´t the best beach around Málaga. Other beaches have better quality sand and seawater. You can find them at:
- Playa de Cabopino (Marbella)
- Playa de Calahonda (Nerja)
- Playa de Bil-Bil (Benalmádena)
- Playa de Pedregalejo (Málaga)
- Playa de Maro (Nerja)
- Cala del Moral. (Rincón de la Victoria)
If you are looking for good seafood…
Book a table at Chiringuito Tropicana, a restaurant located on the Malagueta beach. A lavish restaurant with good quality fish to taste real local food.
Another option located in the city center which serves amazing seafood is restaurant El Mentidero Málaga
You can´t leave Málaga city without trying one of the most popular and taste wines called Cartojal. It is a popular wine usually drunk during the summer local festivities called Feria of Málaga which happens two weeks in an august month every year.
Feria de Málaga is a famous street party at day on the city center, also at nights, with popular music, street performances, wine, food.. with the advantage and charm of being close to the beach.
